You will need various pool chemicals that are used to treat the water, test kits that are used to test the quality and safety of the water, paint approved for pool use, pool cleaners, filters, pumps, lighting, a cover, and a sturdy fence, not to mention any added accessories you may like to have, such as slides and diving boards. If you choose to, you can invest in a pool vacuum that can also aid in keeping debris out of the pool as well. For stains that are caused by chemicals in the water, you will need a stain eraser, which can get rid of stains caused by calcium and rust, among others.
To make certain that the pool water is safe for those who will be swimming in it, you will need to purchase and use chemicals that can sanitize the water, such as Bromine and Chlorine. Depending on where you are shopping, you may be able to get all of these supplies in one big kit, which can save you money. This kit usually contains a measuring cup, powered sanitizers, stabilizer, conditioner, a water bottle for testing, and test strips for checking the chlorine levels.
